Two Inspiring Days Dedicated to Innovation – Experience Exchange for ZIM Network Managers and Innovation Day for SMEs 2025
On June 4 and 5, 2025, we had the opportunity to participate in two outstanding events that focused on the innovative SME sector in Germany and highlighted the central role of networks and communication. As ZIM network managers of the “smart analytics” network, our team was not only present as an exhibitor but also actively engaged in expert discussions about new approaches to fostering innovation.
1. Experience Exchange for ZIM Network Managers
As part of the annual experience exchange, ZIM network managers from across Germany gathered in Berlin to discuss current developments, challenges, and opportunities for innovation networks. This year’s event focused on the theme: "Social Media as an Opportunity for Innovation Networks."
Highlights of the day included:
- A well-founded keynote on current dynamics and trends in social media
- Hands-on workshops on planning and implementing digital communication strategies
- Intensive speed networking focused on digital reach and visibility
- Dialogue with the project sponsor and other network coordinators
As network managers of "smart analytics," we gained valuable insights – especially regarding the digital positioning and communication of our network activities. The practical discussions validated our strategy of using social media in a targeted way to increase visibility and attract new partners.

The following day featured Innovation Day for SMEs, one of the most important events for promoting innovation among small and medium-sized enterprises – with around 300 projects from the ZIM (Central Innovation Program for SMEs) and numerous insights from business, science, and politics.
Our contribution:
As part of our “smart analytics” network, our network partner Synovo presented the project “RADAR”, developed together with Michael Burnet. The project aims to develop a system for contactless remote diagnostics and patient monitoring, applicable in both veterinary and human medicine. Visitors showed great interest in this innovative concept, which is based on contactless vital sign measurement and could set new standards in telemedicine.
The event not only served as a showcase for our work but also offered intensive exchange with other project stakeholders, funding institutions, and potential cooperation partners.
